A variety of red-flushed blushed cooking apple which was raised by WP Seabrook & Sons in Chelmsford in Essex and introduced commercially in 1921. It cooks down to a purée. This mid-season variety is harvested from late-August in South-East England and is at its best from September to October.
The Exchequer Leghorn breed of chicken was developed within a Leghorn flock by Mr. Robert Miller of Scotland between 1905 and 1907 and introduced in 1907. It is considered a rare breed in the United States It matures early and high white egg production. They are highly gregarious hens as can be seen in this picture of these three who rapidly came to investigate me when I visited their farmyard.
A variety of flushed red apple raised by Mr GT Spinks at Long Ashton Research Station in Bristol in 1924 as a cross between Worcester Pearmain and Beauty of Bath. This early-season apple is harvested from August in South-East England and has no storage properties.
A blue cheese made from the milk of Jersey cows. It is a fairly firm cheese with a natural rind with a sweet buttery taste of rich milk with gentle herbal undertones. The blue is piquant but not overwhelming. It is available in various sizes. (PDO).
Exotic fruit will, of course, vary on where you see this written. From Western Europe, pomeloes and rambutans and mangosteens look exotic, but from Thailand possibly an apple, a pear, a plum.
A variety of eating apple raised in 1902 by Laxton Brothers of Bedford and is a cross between Cellini and Cox's Orange Pippin. It received the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Merit in 1926. It is yellow, streaked with red and has a note of aniseed in the flavour. This is an early-season variety which is harvested from late-August in South-East England and is at its best from September to October.
A tomato which grows under cover. It produces good crops of medium light red fruit with average flavour but excellent disease resistance.
A small variety of bean which is grey with a dark stripe, sweet-flavoured, and having a smooth texture. Similar in taste to Flor de Mayo Beans.
