A variety of eating apple raised in 1902 by Laxton Brothers of Bedford and is a cross between Cellini and Cox's Orange Pippin. It received the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Merit in 1926. It is yellow, streaked with red and has a note of aniseed in the flavour. This is an early-season variety which is harvested from late-August in South-East England and is at its best from September to October.
