Bullet tuna. So called because of the speed at which it moves. Bullet tunas are blue-black on the back with a pattern of zig-zag dark markings on the upper hind body, and silver below. The fins are dark grey.
"White food." Blancmange. Historically this was an almond milk and gelatine pudding made in a mould and then turned out. It now refers to any kind of set pudding or custard flavoured with strawberry, chocolate or vanilla.
A type of comber fish. This one has vertical bands. A bony fish with very good flavour, useful for soups.
Finger millet. After rice and wheat, finger millet, with pearl millet, is the most important grain crop of India. It is used to make flour. Finger millet is often intercropped with legumes such as peanuts (Arachis hypogea), cowpeas (Vigna sinensis), and pigeon peas (Cajanus cajan), or other plants such as Niger seeds (Guizotia abyssinica).
Rayed Artemis clam. A dirty white to light brown clam which occurs from Norway to the Iberian Peninsula and into the Mediterranean.
The miller. A type of edible mushroom with a slightly unsual smell and one which is easily confused with other, poisonous, clitocybe mushrooms.
St George's mushroom. A small white or cream mushroom that appears in parts of Europe around St George's Day on 23rd April.
