A relish made from roasted red peppers and aubergines (US: eggplants) peeled and puréed, peeled and pounded with onions, garlic, vinegar and oil, usually served with meatballs known in Trieste as cvapcici.
Golden sardine. A fish from the southern Mediterranean similar to a sardine or anchovy and growing up to 30 cm (1 ft) in length. It is also a name for celery in Naples.
