Meat or fish pie, deep pastry filled with onion from Galicia. Because many Galicians moved to Latin America, the pie went with them and it can be found in many shapes and sizes all over the continent.
In Sicily, impanata is a sort of pie made with bread in which ingredients such as cauliflower, sausage and cheese, or spinach and ricotta and tomatoes, are placed between two sheets of bread dough and then baked.
