Portalegre is a town and district in east central Portugal, and stretching to the Spanish border. Almonds and rice, grain, fruit and vegetables are all grown here, including the famous ameixa d'Elvas.
Porto, or Oporto, is a town and district of northern Portugal, part of the province of Douro Litoral, with the Atlantic in the west and the River Douro to the south. Famous for its port wine, it also produces fruit and vegetables, olives, meat, dairy produce, wheat and maize.
