Faro is a district co-extensive with the region and province of Algarve, along the southern end of the coast of Portugal. It has a sub-tropical climate with vegetation reminiscent of northern Africa. Red, white and rosé wines are produced as well as a sherry-like dessert wine. It is also known for its Mediterranean fruits and fish.
A Brazilian condiment of manioc or cassava meal roasted in oil with garlic and sometimes with sausage and eggs, looking a little like stuffing, served as a side dish and sprinkled over wet dishes.
Île flottante. Eggs whites beaten until they peak and then poached in milk, served with a sprinkling of cinnamon and egg custard.
If the thoracic portion of the carcass in lamb, or entrecosto, is cut as a ladder of ribs, then banha is the larger cut which includes abdominal muscles plus costal cartilage and sternum.
