Spaghetti bolognaise. Spaghetti served with a sauce of tomatoes, sage and minced (US: ground) meat with vegetables and chicken livers, served with Parmesan cheese. Some people suggest that it should contain milk.
Swordfish. This really is swordfish which is relatively uncommon in Portugal. Smoked swordfish is available around Lisbon.
Chickweed. A plant which grows wild near streams and on wasteland and may be eaten raw in salads, cooked in the same way as spinach or used to make soup.
