Bread. In Laos the French influence means that, amongst the more ubiquitous rice cakes, you will find perfect baguettes, thought the flavour is likely to be sweeter than in Europe.

Prawn chips
Grated taro or cassava steamed, mixed with sesame seeds and sugar and baked in the sun.
Rice cakes. May be made by making sticky rice, moulding it into cakes and them drying them before frying them.
Rice fried until golden and then pounded.
