Genova (Genoa) is a port, province and capital town of Liguria, a region along the coastline in the north west of Italy. Characteristic foods include pinenuts and basil, famously used in making pesto, gnocchi and ravioli as well as fish caught along the Ligurian coast.
A name in Ticino for the St George's mushroom. A small white or cream mushroom that appears in parts of Europe around St George's Day on 23rd April.
A Ligurian name for bunches of wild green vegetables and herbs, which might include fennel, escarole, leaves of thistles and so on. It is the Ligurian equivalent of Italian "herba".
