A PDO semisoft, crumbly well salted white cheese made from goat’s or sheep’s milk. It should have a clean, salty piquancy. Feta cheese is used in pies, added to salads and served with meals. Now, mainly made in Denmark.
Poor cod. A small bony fish, resembling smelt and with the same cucumber smell when fresh, and treated in the same way as whiting.
This does indeed mean steak, while the Greek for a fillet steak is 'tournedo'. On the whole "beefsteak" indicates that it is likely to be an inferior cut or it would be specifically named.
