A fritter made with phyllo pastry and Katschkawalj cheese or meat rolled into a cigar shape. It can be made with Gruyère or Emmental in the absence of Katschkawalj. It can also be a sweet fritter made with honey and nuts and soaked in syrup, similar to the Greek bourekakia. It can be large or small and is found all over the Middle East.
