Oporto is the anglicised name for Porto, a town and district of northern Portugal, part of the province of Douro Litoral, with the Atlantic in the west and the River Douro to the south. Famous for its port wine, it also produces fruit and vegetables, olives, meat, dairy produce, wheat and maize.
