Melted butter. Butter mixed with a small amount of stock or wine, boiled, sieved and served with fish.
"Bread and butter." Open sandwiches consisting of one slice of bread topped with meat, fish or cheese and not covered with another piece of bread.
Witch sole. A side-swimming flatfish with pinkish-purple, marbled skin, having a blunted shape similar to the sole although it is not a true sole.
