Naan bread. A leavened flatbread cooked in a tandoor and made from white wheat flour, yoghurt, egg and butter and baked in a tandoor. The baker is called the naanbai.
Powan. Whitefish. Houting. Vendace. A small relation of char or lake whitefish and is a slightly oily freshwater fish of northern Europe, prepared in the same way as trout. It can be baked or fried.
Nectarine. A smooth-skinned cultivar of a peach, not, as is often thought, a cross between a peach and a plum.
