
Dublin Bay prawns. Norway lobsters. These are like small, elongated lobsters, pale pink when cooked, with long, narrow claws and a delicious flavour.
"Ox tongue." Beefsteak mushroom. It may be sliced and fried like liver, or eaten raw with a salad, when it should be cut into thin strips, soaked in salted water, drained and then dressed with a vinaigrette.
The miller. A type of edible mushroom with a slightly unsual smell and one which is easily confused with other, poisonous, clitocybe mushrooms.

"Cat's tongue." Hedgehog fungus. Cream-coloured mushrooms, excellent to eat, easily found in woods from late summer to late autumn (US: fall). They have a sort of downy white stem leading up to a cap which is centrally depressed and under which are masses of little spines, giving the mushroom its English name. It is quite a good mushroom to collect as it is easily distinguished from other mushrooms, is a relative of the chanterelle, and, like it, has good flavour and good retention of texture on long cooking.

"Cats' tongues." Long, thin biscuits (US: cookies), crisp and sweet, with rounded ends, often served with desserts such as mousse or fool.
