"Poor Knights." French toast. Bread which is soaked in milk and then fried. It is usually served with berry fruits, jam (US: jelly) and cream.
Buttercream. A mixture of butter and sugar sometimes with egg yolk and flavourings. It is beaten vigorously until it whitens and then used for sandwiching sponges together and to decorate and garnish a variety of cakes and confections.
