A relative of Golden Delicious discovered in 1959 by Mr PJ Jenkins and introduced commercially by Stark Bros in Missouri.
A large, sharp variety of eating apple found on land in Woodbury in New Jersey belonging to Judge JM White, later sold to Mrs Starr, hence the name. It is green with brownish streaks and flushng. This mid-season variety is harvested from mid-September and is at its best from September to October.
