Starkspur Golden Delicious apple

A relative of Golden Delicious discovered in 1959 by Mr PJ Jenkins and introduced commercially by Stark Bros in Missouri.

Starr apple

A large, sharp variety of eating apple found on land in Woodbury in New Jersey belonging to Judge JM White, later sold to Mrs Starr, hence the name. It is green with brownish streaks and flushng. This mid-season variety is harvested from mid-September and is at its best from September to October.

Stayman Winesap apple

A variety of eating apple which is a cross between Red Delicious and Winesap and being predominantly red over yellow and with juicy, crisp, tart flesh. It was raised by Dr J Stayman in Leavenworth in Kansas in 1866 and introduced commercially by Stark Bros of Missouri.

St Clement's tart

St Clement's tart is a classic. Taken from the nursery rhyme; "'Oranges and lemons' say the bells of St Clement's…" this is a sort of lemon curd tart but made with oranges and lemons.
