The small, round, buff, ridged seeds of coriander have a warm, savoury flavour, are an important ingredient throughout the east and are used a great deal to flavour savoury dishes, pickles and baking. If it is being grown for its leaves it is worth doing repeated sowings, as for lettuce, to provide a crop throughout the season.
