Macadamia nut. A white nut with oily texture which originated in Australia. IT has the appearance of a large hazelnut.

Kencur. A plant similar to ginger but with a distinctive flavour. The rhizome is smaller and more shrivelled than that of ginger. It is used both medicinally and in the cuisine of much of the Indian Subcontinent and South East Asia, but not of Thailand where is it used only medicinally.

This actually means sauce or gravy, but has slowly been adopted by Westerners to mean a hot Indian dish flavoured with curry powder. An authentic Indian curry would be wet and complex.

Curry sauce. This is actually tautologous, as curry means sauce.
