A variety of red flushed eating apple with intense, pineapple flavour, raised by the gardener of the same name at Madresfield Court, near Worcester, in 1908 as a cross between Cox's Orange Pippin and Worcester Pearmain. It received the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Merit in 1908 and the First Class Certificate in 1910. This late-season variety is harvested from mid-October in South-East England and is at is best from December to February.
