Tamworth pig

[English]

A ginger coloured pig which originally came from Staffordshire in the Midlands. It is the only red native breed to be found throughout the British Isles and is thought to be directly descended from the old English forest pig. Tamworths enjoy living outside. It is good for bacon but also the pork is full-flavoured and makes good crackling. This breed is still on the endangered list of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
