sunflower

[English] plural sunflowers

Sunflowers produce seeds which provide sunflower oil. The seeds are themselves edible. The leaves can be used as cattle fodder, so it is an invaluable crop. The flower heads can be enormous and are often used to represent the sun. A field of sunflowers will face the sun all day, turning slowly as the world rotates, and changing the appearance of the field completely.
