salad dressing

[English] plural salad dressings

Dressings for salads may take many forms, depending on the ingredients of the salad. Some may be a simple vinaigrette containing oil, vinegar and garlic; it might be that mustard or sugar is added. Some people like a blue cheese dressing, though I am not among them. Others like Thousand Island, or oil and lemon juice. They are legion. As with almost everything, a freshly made dressing with good ingredients always beats anything ready-mixed in a bottle.
