"Golden bread (of Verona)." A yeast-cake traditionally available in Verona at Christmas, shaped like a star, but tall and rather like a rum baba in texture and dredged with vanilla flavoured icing sugar. Unlike panettone it has no dried fruits but is otherwise similar.
