Napoli is a province and port and capital town of Campania, a region around Naples. Naples is known throughout the world for its food, which was carried, particularly to North America by the poor of southern Italy, who went their to find a new way of life, taking their cuisine with them. Particularly well known are the pizza, ice cream and foods with tomatoes and aubergines (US: eggplant).
