Mulligan stew

[English]

Burgoo. A soupy stew of meats, usually pork, veal, beef, lamb and chicken, beans, potatoes, corn, cabbage, okra, tomatoes, of French origin, popular in western Kentucky and Morgan and Lincoln counties of Illinois. Really it consisted of whatever was available - including one source which quotes squirrel's brains as an ingredient. It is said to have started life as a porridge for sailors.
