Hereford Cross apple

A variety of eating apple raised in 1913 by Mr GT Spinks at Long Ashton Research Station in Bristol. It is a Cox's Orange Pippin cross. It is a dense, dark crimson apple. This early-season variety is harvested from late-August in South-East England and does not store well.
