George Carpenter apple

A handsome variety of bright yellow eating apple flushed blushed with scarlet, raised by George Carpenter at West Hall Gardens in Byfleet in Surrey where he was Head Gardener in 1902 as a cross between Blenheim Orange and King of the Pippins. This mid-season variety is harvested from mid-September in South-East England and is at its best from October to December.
