Mushroom - a general term. On the whole "funghi" refers to cultivated mushrooms as most wild mushrooms would be referred to by their name. A cep is much more desirable than a mushroom, so you would not conceal it under this blanket heading. It may also refer to an assortment of types of mushroom.
