A Sicilian dish of tubes of slightly bubbly pastry made with Marsala wine and fried until they are golden brown. They are filled with sweetened ricotta cheese mixed with candied peel and nuts, sometimes chunks of chocolate, deep-fried and sprinkled with icing sugar. They look a little like brandy snaps. Sometimes the filling is mixed with Amaretto liqueur.
