[Italian] plural bruschette

Thick slices of bread, lightly toasted and rubbed with the cut side of halved cloves of garlic and dressed with new green olive oil. Sometimes also rubbed with or topped with tomato and, increasingly with toppings such as anchovies or liver pâté. Bruschetta is a slightly crude version of crostini.
