birch bolete

[English] plural birch bolete mushrooms

The birch bolete is a dark variety of mushroom which grows in woods at higher elevations around 1800 ft and can be found from the first days of August. It has a swollen rough stem and is a little like a cep mushroom. It is edible. (If gathering mushrooms you must be absolutely certain what you have before you eat them as many are very poisonous.)
