[Italian] plural bensoni

A crumbly sponge cake or bread from Modena with a flavour of lemon. It is traditionally baked in the shape of an 'S' or a spiral and pieces are broken off and dipped into sweet wine and then eaten with a spoon. If it has jam (US: jelly) in the centre it is called ciambella.
