[Portuguese]

Beira Baixa is a province of north central Portugal including most parts of the district of Castelo Branco and lies between the Serra da EstrĂȘla and the Spanish border. The crops in the intensively farmed river valleys that run through this infertile area are grain, fruit and vegetables. It is part of the former region of Beira.
