Houting. This is a small relation of char or lake whitefish and is a slightly oily freshwater fish of northern Europe, prepared in the same way as trout. It can be baked or fried.
Chinese bellfower. A plant of the Campanula family indigenous to South East Asia. In Korea, where the root, either dried or fresh, is often used in salads, gimchi and the like, it is more commonly found with white bells than with the blue bells found elsewhere.
"First lamb." The first lambs born in early spring, in January. Primör has the same route as 'premier'.
"Princess pudding." Made with butter, flour and warm milk, almost like a thick roux, with vanilla sugar, and egg yolks, all beaten well and then beaten egg whites folded in, cooked slower in a bain marie and then turned out. Usually served with a hot fruit syrup.
"Princess cake." A plain cake made with potato flour with a filling and coating made with vanilla, sugar, eggs, cream and gelatine and then covered with marzipan which is coloured green.
