Indian gooseberry. A sour fruit used in chutneys and preserves, but more frequently used for medicinal purposes than culinary.
A fish of rivers and lakes eating fish, frogs and algae as well as fruits that fall from overhanging trees. These fish are highly esteemed food fish but are in danger of being overfished. British anglers in India refer to them as Indian salmon.
Drumstick bean. A long, stick like pod. It is a delicacy used in fish stews or mixed vegetable dishes.
