"Boston cake." No-one seems to know why this is called Boston cake, but it is a popular cake nonetheless. A risen dough made with butter and sugar, flour, egg and yeast and flavoured with cardamom, is rolled out into two squares around 25 cm (10") square. Each of these is then spread with a filling made with butter and sugar mixed with cinnamon. They are then rolled up like a Swiss roll and cut into slices about 5 cm (2") thick. They are then risen again and cooked upright.
