"Ham salad." A salad made with smoked ham finely chopped and mixed with, say, chopped apple and peas and so on and mixed with mayonnaise. You may see the singular partitive form "kinkkusalaattia" on menus.
Cherimoya. The fruit of a South American tree of the custard apple family. Fir cone-patterned, thin, green skin encloses white, silky smooth flesh and large shiny stones. The interior pulp is eaten raw and unsweetened and has a flavour of pineapple. Larger ones have the luscious and complex taste of banana, mango and vanilla. Originated in Peru.
Alpine or Siberian bullhead. A sculpin found from the Nordic countries and northern Europe through to North Korea.
Rainbow trout. Most usually farmed in Europe. You may see the singular partitive form "kirjolohta" on menus.
