In the United States it is a more imprecise term for any of a number of large, sub-primal beef cuts used for roasting or a section of a lamb including both hindquarters, which would mean the loin and legs.

Barramundi is an Asian sea perch living in mangrove estuaries and creeks around the northern coasts of tropical Australia, from the Aboriginal for "large in size" and can grow up to 2 metres (6 ft) in length. It is also found in the estuaries of the Indian Ocean. This firm textured white fish can be steamed, grilled or fried, and stands up well to grilling over coals. They look like perch, with the same hump-backed appearance. It can be substituted by any flaky white fish but is most similar to the European sea bream.

The Plymouth Rock, commonly known as the Rock or Barred Rock, is a popular old fashioned, dual-purpose utility bird which does better in the USA than in the UK. It's a gorgeous looking bird - proud and beautifully feathered. It should lay a large brown egg ideally at the rate of about 200 a year. There are still excellent productive lines in the USA, and the cockerels make good eating too.

A barrel is a container for wine, beer or spirits and some foods such as salted herrings and olives, originally made of curved slats of wood bound with iron hoops. The wood often imparted specific flavour to the contents of the barrel, especially if they were selectively aged in that wood. Now they may be made of steel or other materials. It is also a liquid measure equivalent to 35 imperial gallons (159 litres, 42 US gallons).
