Cloudberry. A relation of the raspberry but with an amber colour and which grows wild in northern regions of Europe and North America. Cloudberries are seldom cultivated. They have a smoky flavour and are excellent for making jams (US: jellies) and preserves.
A variety of russet dessert apple discovered in an orchard in Cork around 1890. It has hard, dry, cream flesh with a distinct taste of banana. It is mid-season apple, harvested from late-September in South-East England, is stored and is at its best from late September to December. Received the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Merit in 1910.
