Breadnut is a variety of breadfruit grown in the Caribbean and Central American which has seeds 2.5 cm (1 inch) long. It is a staple of Mayan diet, and with a flavour and texture like a cross between potato and chestnut. These can be roasted or boiled and eaten as nuts. The fruit is also roasted and ground for flour.

Breakfast cereals are based on cereal grains such as corn, oats, rice or wheat, treated in various ways and eaten usually with milk, sometimes with a little added sugar, at breakfast. Some have added vitamins or minerals but they should not be depended to provide the daily required intake as sometimes these shake to the bottom of the box and are found in that nasty bit which nobody wants when the box is nearly empty.
