A stuffing for feathered game, particularly quail, of bananas mashed with breadcrumbs, onions and tarragon.

An indeterminate, potato-leaved variety of heirloom beefsteak tomato from New York which produces late season, deep pink fruit with green shoulders, weighing from 500 g to 1 kg (1-2 lb) and resembling Brandywine.
Boops or bogue is an inferior variety of sea bream. These are brightly coloured, silvery yellow, spindle-shaped fish with large eyes abundant in the Mediterranean about 20-30 cm (8-12 inches) long. They are usually used in fish soups or are served grilled.
Honey mushroom. Honey fungus. They should always be well cooked.
Borage is an herbaceous perennial plant with brilliant, star-like, blue flowers and blue green leaves used in salads, drinks, soups and stews, chopped into cream cheese, mayonnaise or egg salad, but care must be taken to use only the smallest leaves and chop very finely, or the hairs will irritate. The leaves have a slight flavour of cucumber and can be cooked in the same way as spinach while the flowers can be crystallised or used in fritters. It is sometimes used to flavour pastry dough. The plant is Mediterranean in origin and thrives in sunshine and warmth.
Palmyra palm. The provenance of palm sugar which is made by tapping the unopened male or female flower and boiling down the sap. It also produces a palm nut which, when it germinates, produces an edible embryo which is used as a vegetable.
