A round, deep red, indeterminate heirloom variety of tomato. I was once the organiser of a small gardening group where I worked. We decided to bring in samples of all the different varieties of tomatoes we had grown and to have a "blind" tasting to compare flavours. We produced something in the region of 16 different tomato varieties to test. Sioux was unanimously voted the best flavoured. However, we had another Sioux tomato from a different grower - grown in different soil and in different conditions. This did not produce the same luscious results. This was rather informative. The good ones were sweet, tangy and complex, weighing around 170 g (6 oz). They have a long season.
