Reisentraube tomato

[German] plural Reisentraube tomatoes

"Bunch of Grapes." This indeterminate heirloom tomato originated in East Germany and is said to have been grown by the Pennsylvania Dutch since 1847. The distinctly pear-shaped fruit are produced in large clusters of 25-40. It is still a prolific producer of fruit in years with little sunshine. The plant is stocky and highly branched. The fruits are red and are the size of large, oval cherry tomatoes. The fruits have excellent flavour and hold well on the vine, appearing late season.
