This is one of the most widely used very hot chillis in Brazil. It originated in the Amazon Basin, but is presently cultivated in the state of Bahia, and is a characteristic ingredient of cooking in this region. It brings a bright, fruity flavour to its dish and goes very well with acarajé, feijoada, chilli sauces, with meats and also seafood stews.
