A fruit which grows in clusters on a stem. It is similar in appearance to longan, having a yellow to beige skin which can be taken off in the same way as the skin of the lychee. Inside there is white flesh, less luminous than that of the lychee, in four segments, each containing a stone. The flesh is sucked off the stone and has a texture and flavour slightly reminiscent of a custard apple.
