An old established firm of rum producers who moved from Cuba to Puerto Rico and are now more widespread. They did much to popularise light-bodied rums. The name Bacardi was commonly used to describe a cocktail, a grenadine version of the Daiquiri until the firm took legal steps to protect its trademark.
