[Swedish] plural äppelformar

These round fritters are made with pancake dough and are more akin to an apple waffle than an apple muffin, as they are sometimes described. They are pan fried rather than deep fried, so are not doughnuts. Traditionally in Denmark and in Skåne they were cooked in special cast iron pans, like a waffle mould but with round cut-outs. The dough rose around a piece of apple in the centre of the mould to make the ball-shaped "äppelform".
