Guava. A fruit with the external appearance of an apple or pear. The large, pale, yellow-skinned, pear-shaped ones are the best. They have a very strong smell.
Cloves. The unopened flower buds of a tree, dried in the sun. They are very aromatic and widely used in Indian cooking.
Myrtle. Usually the bitter fresh or dried leaves of the plant are used, although the berry fruits are used as a subsitute for black pepper. The aroma of the leaves is sweetly pungent and it is used as the basis of many perfumes.
